Thanks for stopping by! I’ve moved over to a new blog site. You can now follow my adventures at www.kimberlymurrayphotography.com. I’m starting out with a blog post recapping my wonderful experience at the Food and Light workshop.
Food Fridays: Dressed Up Banana Nut Muffin
I love cupcakes. And cake. And, well, cookies are kinda nice, too. When I’m longing for the moist, sweet goodness of a cupcake, but I don’t have one nearby, what’s the next best thing? A muffin. Usually, a blueberry muffin is my muffin of choice. But, I recently discovered the banana nut muffin at Atlanta Bread Company, and it is good. Really good. And moist. Plus, it has a dried banana chip sticking out the top to give it a little extra pizzazz. You gotta love it!

Home: Where the Heart Is
I started to name this post “Mom=Love,” but then Dad also equals love, and I don’t have any photos of him to share, so… I will just stick to the old adage, “Home is where the heart is.” A couple of weeks ago, I went home for Mother’s Day and my dad’s birthday and had the best time ever. My visit was filled with lots of laughter, bonding, good food, and relaxation. (Oh, and a little shopping, but we won’t talk about that.) While I was home, I had the chance to get my mom in front of the camera for the first time. So, I thought I would share her beauty with you. My only hope is that I will be blessed to look more and more like her as I grow older.
We started off with a few shots in her sitting room.

Then, it was time to slip into a cute dress and head outside for a few more shots, surrounded by the lush greenery of our front yard. When we stepped outside, I got my favorite shot of the day. (Mental note to self: Remember to always keep your camera at the ready so you can capture natural laughs and smiles.)

And…cue more laughter. Folks, now you know where I get it.

Mom, I had such a great time hanging out with you! I can’t wait for our next visit!
Kimberly – Local Violinist
I’m finally catching up on blogging and wanted to share some images of a shoot with a local violinist, Kimberly. I love musicians who don’t fit stereotypical molds. Looking back on this shoot makes me want to put on my Regina Carter CD.

Paper Flowers for My Birthday
Last weekend I celebrated my birthday, and I had the most fabulous weekend EVER! It was filled with lots of good food, family, friends, and creative endeavors. I must admit that my favorite part was when my little nephew sang “Happy Birthday” to me! He even turned up the volume on the “dear Auntie” part of the song to be sure everyone in the restaurant knew that it was my special day. LOL. Well, the following Monday, I decided to take the day off of work to continue to enjoy some “me” time. And, what did I decide to do? Make paper flowers! Why? Why not?!
Every now and then, I get an itch to do something crafty. A couple of weeks ago, I came across this Making Paper Flowers book by Laurie Cinotto. I promptly ordered the book and eagerly awaited its arrival. What I love about this book is that it is actually a kit, complete with instructions, crepe paper, floral tape, floral wire, and flower stamens. In a nutshell, everything you need to make flowers. Yay!

I decided to start off by trying my hand at a rose.
After looking at my creation, I thought the rose looked a little lonely, so I decided to make a dahlia. Both were a bit more challenging than I anticipated, but I think I did a pretty good job for my first try.

If you’re ever sitting there wishing someone would get you flowers, make your own! It will certainly brighten up your day!
